Public Album Review Party

The popular phenomenon started by Daniel C. Morrison, Louisville Limelight Magazine & HIp Rock Magazine

THE DETAILS -(please note, details are for the majority of shows. Some details may change depending on the situation. These notes will be specified in the "Dates and Locations of confirmed Parties" section and on other event calendar pages. This is just an overview)

Founder/CEO of Hip Rock Magazine and Louisville Limelight magazine, Daniel C. Morrison, teams up with the public to review albums by local Independent Artists in various music genres.  Each public album review session will be genre specific. Everyone who attends will get their name listed in the credits section in the review which will be published in both Hip Rock Magazine and Louisville Limelight Magazine.

Artists perform one song live (vocals only) and up to 5 songs will be selected by the artist to be played over a sound system for the live audience to listen to. After the performance and songs are played, Daniel C. Morrison and the public will openly disucss their thoughts and feelings about the album. The results will be published in Louisville Limelight Magazine and/or Hip Rock Magazine. Occasionally, other media may be on site to cover event.

Each event will be recorded for the accompanying podcast where clips from the public review will be added. Audience participants are encouraged to be tactful and honest, pointing out both strengths and weaknesses.

The artists will be given a short interview before the show, have their performance recorded via video and be allowed to sell merchandise at the show. Artists are required to show up early for their interview. The public can show up a little early as well to grab A seat and speak to the artists if they feel inclined to do so.

Cover for the event will be $5 unless otherwise noted. All proceeds will go to raise money for Louisville Limelight magazine and may often be shared with a local charity.

All shows will be 21 and over unless otherwise noted. Location and times of each show will vary.

A tip jar will be provided at the door. If you prefer to tip the artist instead of Louisville Limelight then feel free to approach them at their merch table and show the love! If you prefer to tip the bartenders (and we hope you will as often venues may let us use the establishment for a huge discount or for free) tip them directly and show the love!
