Although Dare to Care did not make our deadline, stay tuned. We will announce when the interview is ready to go. In the meantime, here is some information about them!

 

According to the Dare to Care website (daretocare.org) “Dare to Care is the leading non profit social service agency addressing the hunger needs of Kentuckiana. Their mission statement per their website,(daretocare.org)

 

“The mission of Dare to Care is to lead our community to feed the hungry and conquer the cycle of need.  We fulfill this mission through innovative programs, efficient operations and by partnering with over 300 food pantries, shelters and emergency kitchens.”

 

Dare to Care receives food from national and local donors. In addition they receive food by utilizing community food drives. If there are any nutritional needs beyond that they purchase necessary food items. Dare to Care is widely  supported  by programs throughout Kentucky and Indiana that receive non perishable items and canned goods for their cause.

 

Over 192,000 people benefited in the last year from the efforts of Dare to Care and its partners. There were over 13 million meals served. That is awesome. Had it not been for their efforts think of those people who may have been hungry.

 

In our everyday lives we may not think much about hungry people. For those of us that do, have been there or have seen the faces of the hungry you have the need inside you to give back. Everybody at one time or another falls on hard times. Remember, that could be you one day. So reach out and help those help themselves. Feed a hungry family.
